first day of college. college=death. college sucks. my teachers are all crazy and schizophrenic. i'll give you the rundown of my day. 7:00 AM I leave for school, early, to assess the traffic and parking situations. 7:35 AM I arrive at school, wait in line for a moment to buy a parking pass, and adam calls and tells me not to bother. I go park by adam. 7:45 AM I meet adam and we walk around and find our classes for an hour. Run into Derrick Santens. 8:50 AM I head to class, English first, I'm in a "learning community" so the first half an hour is devoted to explaining the definition of that. She finally takes role, and we play an introductory game. I sat next to this gorgeous boy named Micah. Teach gives us some words to look up in the dictionary, then we all head to our next class together. practically in two straight lines. 10:10 AM We arrive 20 minutes early for our class and scare the class that's in there half to death. We talk for a minute or so, and the teacher (this little mexican man) keeps complaining that the lights are going on and off. Then we watch this stupid silent film from 1902 that I didn't understand. 11:45 AM I head off to the Union to meet adam so he can watch me eat lunch. paid too much for food, and finished it in 10 minutes. I still had an hour and a half to kill before my next class, so I walked adam to his car, and walked back. Then I sat for another 45 minutes under an umbrella outside my next class and read some of anne rice. 1:30 PM I head off to my Ethics class, in which there are about 46 students (10 more than there are desks). My teacher is late and when he gets here, he explains to this one kid who wants to add this class that he cant. He was totally completely spastic and all over the place. Then he explains the syllabus and says PEACE. a whole hour before my next class. 2:00 PM I walk to my Criminal Justice class and get there an hour early, so I sit in an empty classroom and read some more. Finally the teacher walks in, and its this old man, who reminds me of a cross between Mr. Reese and Mr. Harper. So he explains the syllabus and gives us a FATTY lecture on the first day, including some reference to the supreme court where he says "up yours Alice". So he talks for what seems like forever, and I'm sure its' like 5:00, when he says, okay, thats all for today, and I look at my phone and its only 4:15. 4:20 PM I head to my car which is ALL the way across campus, and try to get the hell out of there. The traffic is biting my ass so I pull into a mcd's parking lot for a few minutes and take off my shoes because all that walking back and forth to my car gave me a FATTY blister on my right heel. I wanted to cry. So I head back home again, and Matt Evans is on my tail. Random right?!? So I finally pull up to my house at like 5:30. And I have to put all my stuff in my room back where it belongs because I had to move it all away from the walls so they could spray for ants. So I'm here now, tired and sweaty cuz its hot in herre, and I just want to read and go to bed. I'm glad I don't have to do that again tomorrow. -peace-carly-
